Von Vine, CPP (Certified Protection Professional) is Board Certified in Security Management and acknowledged as the security profession’s highest recognition of practitioners. Von is the CEO of Spying Eye Surveillance, Inc., a company he started 25 years ago with his partner and wife, Kathy.

Von received his C-10 classification as an Electrician in 1988 and became a Certified Protection Professional in 1997.  He has been a member of the American Society of Industrial Security since 1989.  Von is a Christian who has been trained to teach the Good News Club and was a children’s teaching leader of Bible Study Fellowship, an international, non-denominational organization in 2008-2009.

Von, born in Pasadena, was the Cub master of Pack 156 in Temple City.  Von and Kathy have three sons, Bryan (28) a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona (BA Computer Science) and an MCSC; Jason (26) undergrad at Cal Poly Pomona; and Kevin (13).  Both older sons are Eagle Scouts and have worked at Spying Eye in IT, installations, sales, and service.

Von offers his services as an expert witness qualified to testify as to the validity of recordings and security equipment performance and specifications.  Von provides consultation services to assist City and State entities when writing RFQs.

Kathy Vine, CFO, was born in Chicago and lived on the East Coast until she moved with her family to California to go to high school. Kathy worked as a legal secretary for 10 years before she met Von in a bowling alley and they joined forces. Working for lawyers was a real learning experience which aided Kathy while building Spying Eye. Her favorite things are marketing, sales and talking to the customers.

Kathy loves skiing, camping, movies and traveling the world. Her most recent trips with Von have been to Egypt, China, Scotland and Ireland. She plans to see more of Europe and hopes to make it to Australia some day. Von and Kathy also love to take cruises.

Kathy was a Den Leader in Pack 156 in Temple City and is BALOO trained as a Tiger, Cub and Webelos leader. Presently she is the Treasurer of Troop 161 in Temple City and works on the Parent Committee serving the troop.

Kathy loves reading the Bible and has attended Bible Study Fellowship for the past 12 years. Both Kathy and Von are active in their church and pray together regularly. They have been married for 29 years. Kathy's parents live close by and she spends part of her days serving them.
